Keep your head up.. Im a firm believer that after every big storm there will be a nice period of calm.. I hope whatever you guys are working on has enough of an impact to help save the space program. It would be a tragedy to lose something that is such an American Icon such as NASA..

Well there is one good thing about it all...........you still have a job. :-/ I have some friends that are no so lucky right now. When I have bad days I just sit back and think of how blessed I am right now to be able to provide for my family.

Hope work gets better for you.

I see they reopened this thread.
I do understand the dynamics and restrictions, the offer for an ear to listen stands if you need it. Your 100% right about the stress and it's consequences, make sure you set aside time to spend enjoying your tank - even if its only 10 to 15 minutes a day, its a proven stress reliever

I actually think I know what you're alluring to...at least vaguely. That really sucks, there's alot of turmoil going on in NASA at the moment (my cousin is an engineer for them). I really hope we have a positive outcome from all this. And by positive, I mean we're still working on the dreams NASA has had for a while, instead of crushing those dreams.

What ticks me off is that politics is causing us to lose our "explorer" mindset when it comes to space. In fact, our first lunar landings were political just so we could beat the Soviets in the "space race". It irks people outside of NASA (including me), so there's no telling what you and your coworkers are feeling as far as mixed emotions and chaos right now.

Here is an interesting fact. Prior to JFK's assassination, NASA was in secret negotiations with the Russians to make it a joint program. His assassination spurred fears that the Cubans or Russians were behind and it nixed the deal. It resurfaced though in the Apollo-Soyuz program. Do you think it was a coincident that those vehicles were designed so they could dock?

Stories behind the scenes are often quiet interesting.

I believe it will all work out. It is just hard to be isolated and see so many people freaking out and stressing and not be able to help them.
