Well, I ordered my LEDS yesterday, the heat sinks got shipped today via heatsink usa and the LEDS get shipped tomorrow, and from what I have heard they ship fast.

I went with 2 23'' heat sinks from heatsinkusa.com and the rest with rapidled ofcourse.

For each heat-sink I went with 2 60mm x 10mm Fan and 1 12V AC Adapter (I know 4 fans for 1 adapter is going to involve some splicing but with the help of my brother who is an electrician everything should go fine.)

The kits I chose were the 24 and 48 Ultra Premium LED DIY Kit with Dimmable Drivers. The Leds I asked for were 36 royal blue, 24 cool white, and 12 warm white. The optics I chose were 60 degree as my tank is considered a deep tank so I did not want the spotlighting effect.

I of course purchased a controller for the dimming kit and as soon as the heat sinks come I will start my build on a good canopy for my tank, I was thinking of building a large box to contain all of the equipment in as well as a nice canopy with pull out rack for the leds to come out, or I will just fashion one out of acylic to make this think look rockin.

I cant wait to start work on something, the canopy I still have to figure out but it will be cool.

gonna be hard to build a canopy for your leds, most setups need to be 6+ inches at least closer to a foot above the top of the tank for best coverage.

Well after I ordered everything and after even more research, I ordered the wrong heatsinks so I had to order 2 10X20'' heat sinks and they arrived at my door monday just as my led kits came in the mail, everything came packed nice and neat only problem was that my optics weren't in the package, I contacted them and they said that at the time I ordered them they were out and they were sorry they didn't notify me and that they are on there way now, although it shouldnt be a problem I am going to add those last anyways. I opened up enough of the leds to test on one of the heatsinks (36 leds) and tested each one with the free led tester that came with the package. I also now realize that after not doing more research the fans I have are useless on the 10X20 heatsinks as well >.< All because I was dumb and did not research more on the correct size heat sinks for my tank.

Anyways I took the leds and thermal pasted them onto the heatsink, I have to wait till tomorrow to get my wire because the wire they included was cut extremely short. I will include pictures of the progress in the morning.

Tomorrow I have limited time to work on everything so I will make a box for all of my drivers and controller to sit in on the side of the tank as well as run to the computer store to get a couple fans and connect each set of 14 stars together.
