I meant your car as in your jetta, when I said his, I meant you. Since he(meaning the person that hit you) had a lift kit i would think most of the damaged to his truck was avoided because the energy went through the lower bumper instead of the engine compartment. Also rear ends are basically designed to absorb energy, that is why they crumple. Volvos, when they get into a head on collision the engine falls of the compartment so it doesn't get pushed into the drivers legs and feet. Interesting design,(ruins the car no matter what) but it saved my brothers life so I credit the company even if they are made for Twilight fans and soccer moms.

almost all new cars are desgined to crumple so that the energy dosent transfer to the occupants. its real cool but the car almost never survives the collision.

I liked the solid one fram of my 89 fullsize bronco, plus the front bumper was filled full of concrete to make it heavier. it was a tank ;D

Most cars do not drop the engines though. Ford and Volvo use a lot of Boron Steel so that may have helped with his truck being intact. Audi which is made by VW uses Aluminum space frames, very expensive to produce, but they are very smart engineering, as they are extremely lightweight and really strong. Have to hand it to the Germans they know how to make Guns, cars, and anything else really.

Lugers are pretty awesome Pistols, the prize of British and American soldiers. Miele is German and their products are exceptional. Engineering Excellence also commands a price, anything made in Deustschland is expensive!

Glad to see a fellow dubber saved by the dub! I have a 2008 Rabbit and love it. trust me, the gold is just as good in an accident as the jetta. Good luck on finding a new car!
