So, i went to the store today and picked up some API activated carbon for my sump since i just took of the HOB filter.

I filled the bag according to the box's instructions and now after i filled it the water in the tank looks lightly cloudy. Is this normal when adding carbon?

Hopefully i didnt do something wrong...

The clown still is swimming around happy (he's all i got :))

    Did you rinse the carbon?

Forgot to mention that - i did, for about a minute under tap water.

The box said that the water doesn't have to be crystal clear... it just removes dust particles...

    Will this harm my fish?

    These were the instructions:

Rinse thoroughly under cool tap water to remove any loose dust.
NOTE: ACTIVATED FILTER CARBON does not need to rinse clear.

    2. Place filter in the filter cartridge or in a filter media bag.
