    Thanks Malac0da

    rockwork image update
    Tank 1 - GFO , 3rd change, 2 tablespoons
    [IMG]
Tank 2 - Vodka - currently 0.3 mils per day
    [IMG]
    Tank 3 - Bio Fuel - 1 mil daily
    [IMG]
    Tank 4 - Bio Pellets
    [IMG]

whilst in terms of micro film algae re appearance, Vodka seemingly dose the better job
    in terms tank water clarity
the bio pellet run tank number 4 , seems to be really kicking in this week
and IMHO, there seems to be a decent amount of algae reduction in this tank over the course of the last week (possibly harder working or hungrier snails)

NB - no manual removal has occured in any of the 4 set ups at this stage

Interesting to see the bio-pellets really kick in. They're showing promise.

Any sort of haziness reported by other bio-pellet users? Are they sliming/clumping at all?

    Thanks Sacul

some of the bio pellets, did clump and they actually floated up to top of reactor and stuck there
a swift shake of the reactor split them up, and they dropped back down to the base again

    Thanks Night -Rida
been using it myself on my reef set up since December/ January and so far so good

    update

tank front viewing panel cleaned for these images
Tank 1 -GFO - continued to get algae covered
    [IMG]
Tank 2 - Vodka , currently at 0.3mils - algae developing but not as quickly
    [IMG]
Tank 3 Bio fuel - Thicker covering than on Tank 2
    [IMG]
Tank 4 - Bio pellets the cleanest set up in terms of algae on glass walls
    [IMG]

none of the side walls have been cleaned since previous image

not making any claims that the next 2 things are directly related to the dosing testing, but these are things I have noticed that I found interesting and they may be related

tank 1 - GFO - is the only 1 of the 4 tanks showing higher life forms developing on the tank walls and back - not easy to see, but there are Syphia sponges and Asterina stars at the back near the skimmer
have not seen these in the other set ups
bear in mind all rocks purchased where broken and distributed, thus the potential existed in all the set ups IMO

tank 3 - Bio fuel - this tank is the dirtiest of the 4 tanks now, with regards amount of algae on walls and also amount of algaes still growing/ increasing on the rockwork and sand bed
its also the only tank that the snails have laid eggs in until now

probably coincedental, but interesting none the less

I need some time to practice with this

might try an Acan colony to start with, whilst I get used to handling the Dremmel

Make sure you wear safety goggles with that thing. If the cutting wheel binds, it will shatter and pieces will fly at an incredible speed.
