carbon in display tank,help

    hey guys doing some tank maintanence and a filter bag tore open and some carbon got blown into my display tank, i am going to use a net to scooop most of it up, but just wondering if the bits i cant get at will have any long term affects

    Hello, no worries. The small amount of carbon that you leave behind will not release enough organics to do you harm. It’s unfortunate that this happened to you, but you can perhaps find some comfort knowing you are not the first and far from the last.

    thanks for the help, it gives me some piece of mind, haha i take pleasure doing tank maintenence it distracts me for the 30 mins a day but when things like that happen its a pain haha thanks again

    lol its fine- and don't worry if you can't get it all... after 3 days the carbon is essentially chemically inert, and really only works as more surface area for bacteria to grow.
