I just ordered a carbon reactor from brs. I was wondering what the best way to plumb it into my system would be. I have a 3 chamber sump with a fuge in the center. I want to keep all the plumbing within the sump.

You need to run it off the return section and back to it. Just separate the two a bit. You can just set the reactor in the return section or hang it inside off the edge of the sump. Try to get the cleanest water for it and then return it by the return pump so it get put up to the tank.

You want the cleanest water because carbon will easily clog up.

You can do anything really. So are you running a "canister filter" in your sump or is the sump new to get rid of the canister?

Ya, canisters are primarily mechanical filters and you can toss it. Just make sure it is not biological.... (you have left it too long with out changing the filters) and adding to your bio filter.

I never ran UVs but ya... same thing there... try to give it clean water so it won't foul and loose some of its efficiency. So run the carbon into the uv and return it back to the return pump.

Or... did you mean running the UV off the return pump? you could do that too.... but you also have a fuge and I doubt pods like getting irradiated by UV. I don't know.

i have a canister along with the sump/fuge. runs on its own line i want to get rid of it. its a P.I.T.A to clean. and yes i want to run the uv off the return pump back into the tank. But i guess i could run run it off the reactor flow.

Ya, just to be clear I don't see any reason it would matter how you ran the UV. Just give it some clean water off the return or reactor. Go by what ever the recommended flow rates are in the manual.

You could always ditch the UV too. UVs are good in fish only, but if you are going reef and want a mini eco system, sterilizing small things are not good. Obviously you don't want parasites and Ich, but bacteria and pods and such are good for everything.

I did. Then I started using bio pellets. Then I took my tank down about 6 months ago cause I'm moving.
