I'm setting up a new 90 gallon tank. I am using live sand and caribsea argonite. Which goes in the tank first, the sand or argonite? Which is my base layer? :-/

basically, they are both aragonite sand (assuming the LS are the packaged one from caribsea). If you get the LS from ur LFS, most likely they are aragonite sand, but you can ask them about it to make sure.

ok, u get the bacteria from the live sand to kick start your cycle and caribsea aragonite is just 'dry' sand. As to which is gonna to be your base layer, it depends on the grain of the sand u got, the smaller sand are gonna 'drop' to the bottom eventually. That said, I am not sure on this, but I don't think it will matter which one goes in first. Correction anyone???
