I really like carnation corals and they are very pretty. I did some research and i do understand that you need to feed them. How much do you need to feed them, and how expensive are they? Any other info would be great! Thanks!

It will need to be target fed daily.

Check out Live Aquaria for a price range.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
To thrive and last long term (years) they need a constant supply of suspended particles in the water column. Many people have success with them but the systems are specifically set up to deliver that nutrition. It is difficult to maintain water quality in a reef tank while still meeting the needs of NPS corals like carnations. Large polyp NPS like dendros do fine with target feedings, but carnation corals need a more constant food source.

Highest priced one I have seen was $45.

They are easy to feed, but difficult to feed enough. They require daily feedings... and by daily, I mean around the clock. They need nutrient rich waters to thrive. As such, it is difficult to maintain in our tanks that we try to keep nutrient free. Feeding two or three times a day is one of your best bets to keep these beauties alive.

Edit: too slow a typist apparently
