    Hello,

Wondering..what is best food for carnivore fish(Trigger, puffer) that is still economical?

Also, do fish immediately eat pellet food or is it something they graze on?

    thanks!

Some take to the pellets immediately and some don't. I would try shellfish for both fish. I think that they would most likely go for frozen varieties. Krill, clam, lobster the like.

Triggers and puffers should eat just about anything. The staple diet for my fish is New Life Spectrum pellets. All of them eat it now, but some had to be trained. They also get whatever frozen seafood is on sale.

If you aren't giving them frozen krill or shrimp (i.e. foods naturally high in HUFAs), make sure you soak some of their other foods in a quality HUFA supplement. Either way, make sure you are supplementing with a quality Vitamin C supplement. You can also go the easy route and use a combination Vitamin C/HUFA supplement.
