I have finally purchased 20lbs of live rock and live sand for my 20G Long. I am still on edge about whether to do a FOWLR or Nano reef tank.

Either way, I have a ton of convict fry that are of feeder size and was wondering if there would be any suitable carnivores I could keep in the 20 long....possibly with an Ocellaris Clown and a few inverts.
Is this asking for too much? lol

correct me if im wrong, but the only convict fry i know of is african cichlids which are freshwater. quick google search led me to some convict tangs in which case are too small for a 20gal tank ;)

With only 20g you're going to find it difficult to find a true predator I think.
Especially one that won't outgrow the tank and one that won't eat the clownfish. You could potentially look at a small angler/frogfish but I wouldn't keep one with a clown personally or the clown might just become a snack. Also be sure you research it well and are prepared to wean it onto frozen food which can sometimes be tricky, if the fish store hasn't already done it for you.

Or do you mean that you were going to use the convict fry to feed the carnivore that you want to get?...

I was just looking into that same carnivore ? For a nano reef. I have wanted a lion for ever. Everything I found said 30 gal or bigger for a dwarf lion and depending on which species you can keep fish of the same size and from what I gathered all the dwarf species are reef safe.
