Just brought home a Carpenters Flasher Wrasse, from my LFS. I was reading online, and i saw that it should be acclimated for 4 hours, before being added to the tank. Is this true?
I usually acclimate my fish for about half an hour, so this is pretty shocking to read.
I got him to replace a Scotts Fairey Wrasse, that jumped out a while back. If anyone has experience with the Flasher, please fill me in. Thanks:cheesy:

I just bought a McCosker's Flasher Wrasse. I acclimated him like normal. I let the bag sit for about 20min. Then I start adding about 1/2 a cup of water every 5-10min. for about 30-45min. and release, He's doing great right now.

IMO, some people go crazy with acclimation. I float half of my fish and they're fine. I acclimated my Yellow Tang for a half hour and he's happy as can be. IMO, a half hour should be fine.

Had a Carpenter's wrasse. Did about a 1.5 hour drip acclimation and jumped after about 6 months.

Don't mean to hijack this thread, but here's a picture of my McCosker's.

I assume it's a mating signal because it definitely does it more when it see's it's own reflection. It flares it's fins just like any other fish except it darts from one side of the tank to the other back and fourth with lots of colors. When you see you will know!!
