carpet anemone implosion

    ive had the anemone for about 2 months it was doing great yesterday and i just got home and it looks like it imploding on itself.doesnt look melty. its in about 3 inches of sand dug a nice hole and all. is it going south?

    Saw him this am he was opening up again.not sure what his deal was hopefully he will recover

    Happened to me - with my mini maxi - might have just been a big poo - or what mine did and send out some zygote. Will be fine - how is the quality of water?

    All nems periodically close and shrink. Just normal activity. :)

    definitely normal activity for them to evacuate and excrete and refill with water periodically, but another way to double check is to check parems, make sure tank is a ok partner and the aforementioned advice of he should be fine is true.

    youve had great advice here..but make sure your salinity is staying stable...ime carpets are the most sensitive nem to salinity changes..

    hes back to normal :) thanks guys. watter quality is good. he is the only thing in the tank along with a massive ball of cheato and afew other macros and sand/rock. thanks guys. i knew they shrink and grow just didnt expect it to be that small lol. he was alittle bigger then a golf ball and fully opened hes 10+ easy.
