I believe that this type of animal requires metal halides. Take that advice with a grain of salt, however, because I'm not saavy enough about T5 lighting to let you know whether or not you've got enough light for it. These animals also get huge and usually require very large tanks. Not sure how big yours is but if it's anything under 180 gallons, it may very well outgrow your tank in a short period of time. Oh, and as has been mentioned, it will eat the heck out of any of your fish and/or inverts that get too close to it. I lost 2 powder blue tangs to one before I had the good sense to get rid of it. Beautiful anemones but better suited for a species only tank in my opinion.

I'm guessing you have a 10 gal tank as your light is only 18". I would think it probably needs more light. feeding it should help. I'm not sure about the proper tank size for a carpet, I think they move around a lot. maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

I guess that depends on if you can get it healthy again. good luck with it and keep us posted.

if its turning green then it sounds like it is getting the zooxanthae back. which is a good sign.

Friend of mine had a carpet anemone that was like 2 foot across. Thing ate half his fish before he finally decided to get rid of it. He tried pawning it off on me and I said no thanks I like my fish. Finally found someone to take it and the anemone wrapped itself around the over flow and flooded the dudes house while he wasn't home. Glad I didn't take it.

I agree with everyone above. Unfortunately your new carpet requires a larger tank and stronger lighting. Because of the obvious trauma it has already endured by being bleached I would return it and wait to get another until you can meet there minimum requirements

You said the carpet is 18-20 inches across? Thats like two thirds of a 20L. Definitely to big for that aquarium. Unless i missread something.
