Is it possible to keep any type of carpet anemone in a 55G with 216w of T5 lights? Tank depth is 18", lights mounted 1" off of water. 2-10k and 2-460nm bulbs. Has 10G sump and Large Skimmer. ALSO... There is a very docile Rose Tip Anemone.

Carpet nems eat any fish including clowns. I would change the lights to top of the line bulbs if you get one.

Really? Most places say that they will host clowns... Hmm... also my Current Sundial uses their Slimpaq lightbulbs... no upgrading there.. so is it possible for it to survive? My RBTA is always hiding from the light but thrives everyday since I got him months ago.

Carpet have been known to change their mind, but they are more aggressive when it comes to other fish in your tank. You can use any brand bulb in the unit. Their proprietary bulbs are OK at best.

They will host, but they will also eat clowns sometimes too. They also get HUGE, so be sure to plan ahead for that. They are one of the harder anemones to keep, so I wouldn't try it under those lights. Keeping one under less light than it would like could be good reason for it to supplement its diet with some fish.

Agree with everyone else...T5 lighting at a 4:1, watts to gallon ratio, won't cut it for carpet nems.

If you just keep the anemone....possibly. They get huge. Like, they get to a size where a single individual can cover your whole tank.

I have a yellow carpet in a 30 gallon he is doing good he was badly bleached but over the past couple mounths he's been getting some color back. If you get one be ready for it to move my guy moved almost 2 feet in one night about two weeks after I got him
