Well, i think i'm going to have to remove everything from my tank to get the hawkfish out. Luckily today is water change day so i'm going to have wastewater to sit all the coral/rocks in... Not looking forward to this at all.

The wrasse is now alone in the re-aquascaped display. He was hiding in a crack between two rocks for a while, but now he has disappeared... I'm hoping he re-appears at some point today... If not, i'm sure the algae will be appearing shortly...

Yep! The tank is all back together. Stirred it up pretty bad so a did a little water change just for the heck of it. I had no idea where it had gone and was really worried i was never gonna see it and just get hit with algae in a few days... But i was admiring my new SPS frag that i traded the schools wet lab the hawkfish for, when the wrasse suddenly popped its head out of the rocks! All his color is back and he looks fine. He isn't our and about yet really but he appears to be doin fine! Today i'm gonna make a trip to the store and make a mesh top. Once the blizzard sub-sides. Where gettin a little bit of snow up here in northern wisconsin.

I recently caught my Clarki clown by using a tiny fish hook with the barb crimped down and a chunk of shrimp.

Popped the bait right in and he ran up to be the first to eat as usual. I let him take it half way back to his nem, before I set the hook. It was a nice clean set in his top jaw with minor stress.

If your hawkfish is a greedy eater this might work well.

ditto on the wrasse jumping out, and leaving no possible way up and out.

my tank is over 6 feet high and my mccorksters jumped out 4 times, thru the feeding hole- no less, I saved him 3 times, each time he would loose color and then he would be right back up and doing well, on the fourth time he decided to play evil kenevil and I was at work, I found him stuck to the floor- I couldnt believe it- he was never stressd that I knew of, it was the feeding hole- 2" by 3" open, seems he had a death wish I guess, and 50 bucks later- I now have no mccorster's wrasse any more- lesson learned.

I hope he is ok! My cat um, ate my husbands previous f/w betta while we were visiting my in laws in Tx. Well, our friend put him back in, kept an eye on Mr. fishie and he was fine. Hopefully it will be the same with with your Wrasse.

i have had to pick my canary wrasse up off of the floor a couple of times. he hides for about 30 minutes when i put him back in and then seems to be fine. he is the runt of the tank and everyone seems to pick on him for some reason. oddly enough, he is the second oldest character in the tank and still doesn't get any respect. i guess i should name him rodney.
