Ok so i got a Cascade 500 Canister filter on the way in the mail and starting to wonder if i made a mistake?
im hope the Water flow is strong enough to move stuff from the tank floor off my crushed coral
or is the flow weak and pointless to replace my 55 HOB filter and tetra 20 gallon filters i have a 29 gallon tank that is brackish will this filter work out for me ok?

Hi Louzir - apologies for that - I had to wander of onto Google to do some research as
Cascade 500 is not a model / Brand I am familiar with

there are several options Cascade 700 at 185 gallons per hour, up to Cascade 1500 which does 350 gallons per hour

1st impression - they look like nice pieces of kit - they look like they could/ should be good filters

More important - Im sure you know that bacteria are your biggest friend when dealing with fish waste? which means you should not remove a set up filter and just put a new one on (If you know this, Im sorry, but I need to make sure you know it)

If it where me and I was upgrading my filter I would

take the filter material out of my old filter, rinse it and use it in my new filter
or at least a large proportion of it

it seems to come with 2 choices of return - a spray bar, that will spread water out over the lenght of the bar or a simple U shaped outlet that lets you direct water where you want
