Im looking to get a t5 fixture for my 55. Currently I have a 4 bulb that I got cheap and looking to upgrade.
    Catalina Aquarium

Does anyone think 6 x54 is too much on a standard 55. the only SPS I have right now is a small monti Cap frag I just got , but I would like to add a clam in the future.

Also anyone with any experience with these lights would be great, it says 5 year warranty ballast and individual polished reflectors. Looks good, and not abnormally cheap so to throw up a red flag.

    Thanks any advice

The reflectors are not individual which is what you will need, plus the fixture may be a little too wide I think. I would look at an Ice Cap VHO 4 bulb fixture with your preferences. I have heard both positive and negative about the quality.

The bulbs that come with the unit you will want to swap out after 6 months for ATI, Giesemann, UVL, KZ and/or GE bulbs.

Go to Reefgeek.com to see the fixture.

    This is from the site:
Each T5 has its own individual German polished aluminum reflector that TRIPLES the light output into your aquarium from each bulb!

I will check into the Vho also

my 55g, is 13" or so deep (from front to back)

if you already have a 4x54w t5 you can just buy a small 2x54w t5 unit and cram them both under a custom hood..

your 4x54w t5 is probly 8" deep, so you got 5" to fit another 2x54w unit behind it..

or just get a whole new unit..

I bought the Solar 6x54w fixture almost 2 years ago. It's just one sheet of aluminum bent to look like individual reflectors. The unit I have came with 3 WorkHorse5 electronic balasts (I think they are using Advanced balasts now). The bulbs were junk but I only paid $199 (+shipping) for the unit back then so it was worth a try. I replaced the bulbs wiht ATI bulbs and it has worked great for my mix reef so far.

I am however thinking of getting more into SPS so I'm considering getting an ATI power module.

You want reflectors that wrap around the top of the bulb and hang past the bottom of the bulb.
