I have a light I bought from Catalina lighting about 6 years ago. My ballast unit burnt out and I really dont want to have to buy from Catalina again because they were horrible, i had nothing but trouble and they were no help.

Does anyone know of another company I can buy from that uses the same plugs as Catalina so i dont have to have go through the hassle of getting it re-wired?

This might be a really stupid post but I would appreciate any help.

I thought Catalina Lights used icecap ballasts. I haven't had any problems with them in the past.

The ballast ran for about 4 or 5 years without any problems so thats not bad but after it burnt out I took it to a couple electricians to see if it could be re-wired and they all said that the wiring used originally was to small and I am lucky there wasnt a fire. Thats just adds to a long list of problems I had with them all along.

I just now called and they said they dont make the same plugs or type ballast i had so i will have to order 2 and have the plugs changed and it will cost me $150 total. Thats real cheap and scaring the hell out of me. lol

Ok, I pulled the trigger and ordered it. When I asked why so cheap he said he was giving me a deal because of my past problems. I am hoping this works in which case I will change my opinion of the company.

I was about to ask why not just buy a whole new ballast.

I hadn't seen the price of $150. lol. Well at least they are willing to work with you now..

Ok just wanted to give a little update. They shipped me the 2 new ballasts and they got here very quickly.
Bad news is I hooked them up and only one of my lights are working. I contacted Catalina and spoke to the same gentleman I ordered from and he was very helpful. He gave me a few things to try and I have to call him back tomorrow.

Just putting this up because in the past I have been very hard on Catalina and I see they have changed from how they once were and are being extremely helpful right now so I would recomend them for anyone looking for lighting.
