here's a video of a homemade fish trap. I used this concept with a 2 liter bottle to catch some PITA Damsels, one that was recently nipping at my Zooanthids just a clear plastic bottle, labels off works better, cut off slightly below where the funnel part straightens out into the body of the bottle then inverted, you can cut the neck where you screw the cap on off to make room for a bigger fish, bait with food and wait, will most likely catch other more eager fish but eventually youll get him. i had to put the bottle in a cave in my rock structure for him to jump in it. Good luck YouTube - Fish Trap

In the past I had taken four large nets, cut off the netting and stitched them together to make a large flat net. Tied string to corners and put bait in the middle – took about 45 minutes to set it all up and just a few minutes to work.

Try feeding with the net in the water. Don't move the net, just throw some shrimp in by the net. Soon he will learn that the net is not a threat and get used to it being beside his food. Then after a week or two you can use the net to catch the unsuspecting fish.
