catching fish in the wild

    whats an easy way to catch in the wild right now i use a 10" regular net but thinking about that fish trap

    please keep coments positive and dont say i should'nt put wild fish into the tank (they have stuff on them) i've heard it all all the fish are qurintened i make shure thay eat and everything (if they dont do good the are returned to the wild

    I think the whole logic behind not taking them from the wild has nothing to do with what they might have, but the fact that you're talking the fish out of it's natural environment.

    First make sure of your state regulations.

    A dive store or website should have "slurp guns" which make fish catch a lot easier.

    aren't a great deal of marine fish wild-caught?

    Yes, we aren't able to captive breed a lot of fish yet and from what I have seen probably over half of all fish for sale are wild caught. Most if not all tangs are wild-caught, for example.

    As for the question at hand, I have no freakin clue but I have heard of the slurp gun thing before! Good luck and let us know how your next fishin trip goes!!

    I bet they welcome those lionfish in the Atlantic that aren't suppose there.

    id say over 75 % are wild caught but if you want to be as eco=friendly as possible dont catch clowns, cardinalfish, dottybacks and blennies which are possible to breed in tanks.

    hey damsels, where are you living? and sure, i wouldn't mind landing a lion fish off the jersey shore and i bet theres some new enlgandahs waiting to come up with some new form of chowda. i think all the lionfish end up on long island though. probably because p-diddy has a house in the hamptons.

    i live in south florida and lion fish are a common sight on our reef and are not welcomed take as much as you want
