So, without draining my tank. Anyone have any crafty solutions to removing some fish that need new homes?

I have a Niger Trigger I wanted so badly and thought the desire of keeping different shrimps again would go away someday. Nope, not worth it.

And of course the black and white stripped damsel I started with 3 years ago. This guy makes additions almost impossible. Time to go buddy.

    Any feedback would be appreciated!

Look at the pre built ones. I personally do not. Reef savy sells one i think.

I have one of the commercial fish traps with gate door. It works for some fish. I caught a big foxface with it. Not sure if a damsel would fall for it. Takes a long time to stand there holding the door with fish line to drop it. If you have a lot of other fish it gets harder to do. With my last tank I don't think I could have ever caught certain fish without draining the tank or... with a bunch of fish in same tank you may have to catch several fish and hold in a quarantined area because they may all fall for the fish food in the trap.

Gallon zip lock bag and a net worked like a charm for me. Let the zip lock kinda settle in and open up, place where fish tends to hide when you put the net in and it should swim right in!

Also consider catching them in the middle of the night while they're asleep.

    +1

NG, nice to see you posting again. Did I miss new pics of your set up new cube?

    Anyways-

The Gallon zip lock works like a charm!
I've used it, and within 10 min., my Rust angel went in side. (he was the one I was trying to catch).
When the fish swims in, put the net in by the opening- they'll stay away form the net, and pick up the baggie- got it!
    simple, quick, cheap, etc.
