It's been my experience that brand new cleaner shrimp will only clean fish but over time will switch to eating fish food as well (or sometimes entirely). If one feeds pellet and/or flake food, almost all brands have Iodine in them.

Probably the only tank that I would dose Iodine to would be one with a lot of decorative sponges or a planted marine tank.

This surprises me. i have only had one since i set my tank up 9 months ago so my experience is very limited. However, he eats anything and i mean anything he can get a hold of. i guess i just assumed they were all that way.

I wasn't clear....most flake and pellets have Iodine in them. They will often eat frozen foods as well, they just don't usually contain Iodine.
