The Fuzzy Dwarf Lionfish are naturally reclusive during daylight hours, so you wouldnt see him during the day.

The Zebra Lionfish is some what the same, but more popular in the hobby. They both need good hiding places as they tend to like lightly timmed tanks.

    Its really up to you.

Are you more attracted to the dwarf look or drawn because they are "dwarf"? Dwarf lions grow nearly to the size of volitans, in case you weren't aware. :)
That said, I've had both and dwarf lions are very hard to ween off live food. Getting them to eat frozen food takes an act of the heavens above.

I've got a Fu Manchu that is awesome.
He should only grow to 6 or so inches which he has, and eats frozen Silversides.

He stays out all day and just hangs under or on the rocks. If your looking for action this is not the fish for you as the don't move around all that much.

If you want a really cool Lionfish look for a Blackfoot. My mother has one and even though that SOB ate one of my Clowns that i was keeping in her tank while I was letting my Nem addjust (my bad). But they are the coolest looking of all the lions IMO. Hard to find though! Good luck
