Ok so I'm totally bored sitting here in my lab (while I should be working :)) and I think I'm going crazy. I swear I have gotten so addicted to my tank. I got home and stare at it. I have dreams about it (I swear). It's crazy! But honestly Im at work and all I can think about is coral. I want more! But I hate shipping and I'm kinda poor cuz this hobby. So is there any one around me that has cheap/free/tradable frags? I swear there is like one store here with coral and it's not that great. I have to drive over an hour to get decent (and decently priced) coral.

Magnett, Look for frag swaps in your area.. that is the best way. but trust me, living over an hour from metro areas makes it difficult.

magnett i understand your problem...I am in the same area as you and yes there is only one store in the CU area and it is ok. i am really considering online purchases. If you find any other way to get corals let me know

Check your local Craigslist. I've gotten some good deals from local Reef keepers who list frags for sale on CL.

I haven't seen anything about any frag swaps but I did just move here a few months ago. Panbac do you know of any swaps or anything? I haven't even seen anything on CL either. Ugh!

    I can relate to this
I do not have any LFS with saltwater product within a 40 min drive of my home
and the better LFS are located a 2 hour drive away, thus 4 hour round trip

what I do is try and make any single trip as effective as possible
so if I am going for live stock, I would get 3 or more frags/ corals
and I would have also checked my cabinet and made a list of anything else I may need
so I stock up on supplements (Ca Alk etc) have spare pumps, wavemakers, heaters, even a couple of spare T5 tubes just in case 1 fails for any reason and I dont want to make a trip out for 1 lamp

Here in Buffalo, NY we are very lucky to have 2 top notch reef shops, both are within 15 minutes from my house.
