I curently am running a 48 inch CFL fixture with 4 bulbs and some aditional LED moonlights. Two of the bulbs are blue actinic while my other 2 bulbs are 6500K and 10,000K respectivily. It does have 1 cooling fan in the top as well. It runs really HOT when running the daylight bulbs. My question is does a similar equiped T5 fixture run any cooler to the touch? The housing on mine gets so hot!

Yes it does IME. The T5HO bulb will get to 150 without a fan but will run 20 to 30 degrees cooler if a fan is used. You will use less energy for as much or more light also with the change.
