CFL's & Zoa's???

I am trying to convert my 55g fowlr to a reef but i am having issues with cost effective lighting. But i know very little about corals and their lighting requirements. First of all. If i got the right coralife bulb, could a single 48" fluorescent bulb be adequate for zoanthids? I assume this is impossible so i was wondering if I were to make a custom hood, would 6 household cfl's that are 5000K and 27w be enough for some beginner zoa's on my 55g. If not would 2 of these CFL's grow zoa's in a 5.5g or a 10g. If none of this would work, what would be my cheapest DIY solution for zoas?

 

if your on a budget just get the oddysea fixture..48" ones on ebay run about 110$ free shipping, comes with bulbs, and moonlights..and that fixture should grow most stuff...maybe not the most light demanding sps, but still could grow some at the top of the tank..

 

thats too much for me, im looking to spend under $50

 

Keep your tank FOWLR for awhile longer and save up. There really are only two things you shouldn't try to skimp on when going to reef set-ups, Lighting and Protien Skimmers. JM2C

 

ive found some 65w 6500k cfl's too how about those
