    It's very cyano like. I certainly thought of that and diatoms but this variation is puffy - flossy is the best word. It's a weird strain - on an old tank. But you are probably more on target than calling it algae. I'd really like a strong id on it.

    Yes it does Matt. Yet it's only on the top of the cheato. The walls are covered also, very thick and slimy.

    It's been great. Showed it to rocketman over the weekend. Pushed the scum to the top where I can pull it, flow and growth are great. Pretty happy with this. Pulled two pints of chaeto out last night.

    Hey Matt, been working on a diy algae scrubber, i got most of it built, but now trying to decide how to fix the screen in it, but does a form of air injection work for these also?
