Chaeto algae

How long can Chaeto algae survive without lights or flow?

 

I would say for quite a while, I know my brother will give some of his chaeto to some of his patients (he's a P.T) and he claims that it will sit on his desk in a bag with no water for 12 hours and it still lives! He dropped off some chaeto off in a patients mail box in a plastic bag where it sat for 24 hours and didn't die! The stuff is very hardy!

 

Awhile, chaeto actually grows in the dark! I had some shipped 2 day once and it was fine!

 

I've had some in my trash can for a week that'll still grow if I put it in water. It's amazing stuff.

 

I my batch sent to me 7 years ago, it took 6 days to arrive and it was fine.
