Just wondering what people's experiences were with having chaeto algae in their DT under their normal 10k/actinic lighting. Will it still continue to grow and/or absorb phosphates/nitrates as well as under a 6500k lamp in a sump?

Just have no room to partition off a refugium in my sump, and would like some type of natural filtration such as the chaeto that I can wedge into a calm low-flow corner of my tank.

It will help to remove nitrates still, but will not grow nearly as fast as under 6500.. Also, you will shortly find small chaeto strings all over your DT..
