Chaeto question.

Put some Chaeto in my sump a few days ago, up until last night it was kind of stretched out (not sure how to describe it) This morning when I looked in the sump it seem to have formed into a ball, is this a healthy sign?

Also I have a small algae problem, some have suggested it might be the start of Bryopsishence the Chaeto. But I also started to raise mag levels, does increased mag have an effect on Chaeto?

Did it ball/clump up or did it fillin? My chaeto normally grows into a ballish shape and is pretty dense. Also I don't tumble mine.

I don't tumble my chaeto either and it grows crazy as for raising your mag to combat bryopsis it's been proven tried an true. Just make sure you have a test kit to keep an eye on your levels.

 

Thanks for the replies, no it's not tumbling, just gently swaying. Like I said it was out stretched last night, but now it's in a ball.

 

Yes and no, some forms of bryopsis don't respond to elevated Mg levels and hence won't die off.

 

And the elevated mag only works with Kent tech m.
