    So I'm turning my aqua clear hob filter into a fuge and I wanna grow pods, should I get chaeto? What are the pros and cons? Also does it require a lot of light??

    chaeto is great. It wont need a ton of light.

    yes get chaeto, cons? i guess it can start to grow in your dt if you dont keep it under control? pros, lowers nitrates, houses pods. 6500k spectrum light should be good.

    try to get it from a good clean tank though... hadn't had aptasia for years... until i got a chunk of chaeto. /sigh oh well, least it's taking forever to make it to the DT. Hopefully i can keep it under control.

    So chaeto will help reduce algae and such? I think I read that somewhere.

    There are no SW people around where I am and I have to order it online(sigh) I really really don't want any hitchikers.

    Be very picky where you buy it from! I started my tank with dry Pukani rock, just to be pest free. Almost a year my tank had no pest. Then I ordered some snails/chaeto and today I'm fighting flat worms and another unidentified worm. I'm pretty p.o.'d
    My suggestion but not sure if it will help is to DIP the cheato in something like CoralRx Pro.
