I have it in my Ref below my main tank and I was wondering if I could just leave the light on. I got a mini light from my LFS that is the right wave length

running it opposite of your DT should decrease pH swings some, but i think the 24hr lighting school of thought is to prevent the cheato from trying to reproduce and polluting your DT. I think the light schedule you want to use depends on wether you are using cheato or calpura

I'm running mine with the lunar lights on my power center.

When the Halides/PC's shut off and the Lunar's come on, so do my sump lights.

it will survive under either, but seems to grow better under half and half even though the calvin cycle occurs during the "day" as well as the "night"... At least it saves on electricity if nothing else.
