So, now one of my chalices is starting to bleach. The section that was a bit bleached before has some of its color back, but this new section doesn't even have a hint of color to it. The eyes on it are all open as well, which I haven't seen before today.

I was wondering, could it be from a lack of light? The chalices are at the bottom of the tank (~22" under 6x T5). How about flow? It's at the corner of the tank, so it likely has a weird flow pattern...

Sometimes coral's new sections come in without color but then color up. If the bleached section is showing color and the eyes are open then I think it is doing OK. There maybe some flow issues and they like medium light so you may want to move it a little higher.

No, it came in fully colored, and only in the last 2 days has this bleached spot showed up and started getting bigger.

Put it under a ledge out of direct light and see what happens. It may need to light acclimate.

OK, you win you got me lost. Try moving it to higher flow and light. Did anything fall on it? Chalices can not slough detritus off. Place it on an angle so nothing can accumulate on it.

Things get caught on it, but I go in and turkey baster it off almost every day. Could that still be a problem that would make it bleach?

It may be unless you get the stuff off quickly.
