Chalice Feeding Help

Whenever I try to feed my chalice my shrimp come over and take the mysis shrimp right out of the chalice's feeding tentacles. I tried to cut the top of a bottle of water to place over the chalice for when I feed it but with how the chalice is positioned on the rock work the bottle falls off. Any tips?

 

That's a good question. I ended up getting rid of my shrimps for just that reason. I tried feeding them first, but they would still go nuts stealing food out of the corals.

 

Feed the chalives at night. I Also do not keep shrimp anymore because they become more annoying than anything

 

If I feed my shrimp first he usually stays happy. Give him something big enough to keep him occupied like a broken up algae tab or bottom feeder tab. Then you can target feed your corals while he munches away for the next 20minutes

 

The thing is I do feed them at night about 1 hour after my moonlights go out and the shirmp still come and steal the food from my LPS.

I'll be sure to try that tonight to see if I can get it to work.
