chalice turned whitish brownish color

    Echinos are low light corals, move it back down to low light and low flow and it should recover. Too much light can kill them.

    did it ever look like that, even when it came in? That picture looks like it was taken with a lot of attenics on. What lights are you running?

    Monti is right on, low flow and low light is perfect for these guys.

    I think you might be right, sollie. I had a couple of chalices that were grown out by other people, and they had adapted them to mid-tank lighting. At the bottom of my tank, they started bleaching.

    it didnt look like that when I got it but started slowly loosing color and now it loooks like crap.

    yeah think it was under halides from where i got it

    That's exactly what happened to me. It's about a month since I got my blue chalice, and it was just starting to bleach a few days ago. I moved it up in the tank, and the bleaching hasn't spread any more.

    well mine looks like crap now so hopefully since it has more light now it will color back up
