Chalk Bass Eye Problems?

I have had 5 chalk bass for 3 month's and I have found them to have eye problems. Two of my fish have had eye problems so far. One lost an eye because of it an almost died. Now another fish appears to be experiencing eye problems. This mostly involves bloated eye's and gas bubbles. I have found tetracycline very effective when dealing with this. However I was wondering if other people who have chalk bass have found them to have eye problems?

 

it is probably a fungal infection... what size tank are they in?

 

I haven't had any chalk bass, but another option I used to cure eye problems is to add a few drop of melafix to the food and feed the fish. The problem usually went away after a day or two.
