changing bulbs

    i have the coralife 150 MH 48inch and would like to know if its possible to change to a 250 watt bulb instead?
    what would i need to do if i can do this

    You would need to replace the HQI Ballast with a 250w Ballast. The 48" has 2 bulbs so you would need 2 ballasts or 1 Dual HQI ballast. Think you are looking at a few hundred $$ to do the retrofit.

    He's right, you can always down grade, you just cant up grade when it comes to bulbs. Not to mention the double ended bulb's tips change shape, so a 250w bulb wont fit in a 150w socket. Luna

    yeah you would have to change the sockets but thats really cheap!
