I have the Catalina brand 6 bulb T-5 lighting unit. The bulb's are three 10.000 and three 450nm (never heard of 450 till now) The bulb's came with the fixture I have had it about 4 month's now. How long can I run on these light's. Do you think they will be good until at least after Christmas?
And when I do change bulb's I want to go with the best on the market. I have SPS LPS and softies, no clam, what bulb's would be best for what I have? And how long could I skate on these and still keep thing's right for the tank inhabitants?

T5s are supposed to last a year but if they are cheaper ones they may not. You should notice a slight decline in your corals and maybe some algae when they are ready to be replaced. You should make it past Christmas.
