My fresh water fish are going from a 150 gallon tank to a 29 gallon tank.

Can i just take some water from the 150 and fill the 29 and would be a complete cycle and i can put the fish right in there?

Freshwater isn't as tricky as SW. Yes you can just take the water from that to the other. I would suggest taking some of your rocks also. Just don't dig so deep that you get a lot of poop! They don't tend to cycle like SW.

Why are you down sizing and what fish do you have?

Im down sizing due to the lack of fish i have and i stop paying as much attention (Thanks salt water :p). I have 5 Green spotted puffer fish 3 inches each (3 inches fat :cheesy:) and 4 or 5 gold fish about 3-5 inches long, and 1 shark looking fish that only comes out at night.

I could never make puffers live in my FW. They just always did really poorly! That is the only fish I can't get to live! And I have had A LOT of fish in my time!

Well good luck and you should be fine!

My puffers have been living for about 7 months now.

Hopefully they are fine with such a big change.

I got my old stand 16 years old and spray painted it black but had so much termites lol.

    Thanks for advice.
