ook cool and how slow should i do it i mean i know do you not want to take out all 30g of your tank at wants as you are putting in like 30g of your new salt that would be to much of a change.

Just do it with your normal water changes.

2in10 gave a good answer. With every water change you're replenishing trace elements and exporting nitrates, phosphates, etc. By doing WC's with your new salt, you'll keep doing the same and eventually there won't be any major traces of the old stuff. Which salt are you thinking to switch to?

Red Sea's Coral Pro is the new stuff on the market. It has super elevated levels of Calcium, Alkalinity and Magnesium and it's loaded with trace elements. Levels like these were never seen before in a salt mix right after mixed and a lot of people think this salt will help them to stop dosing CA, Mg and Alk altogether since simple water changes would replenish the levels of such chemicals.
I also use Reef Crystals, but will definitely give this one a try too as soon as I ran out. Matt already reviews this salt, and several other members are waiting for it to arrive. I'm sure they'll be asked or will want to review it themselves and this will help a lot of people make a choice to try it or not. I'm already waiting patiently until I run out of Reef Crystals, which is one of the good salts out there. Red Sea's salt is supposed to kick RC's levels butt though.

Fromia Starfish is a nice looking star! Do you know what color you'll go for? Blue, yellow, red... ?
