Personally it looks more like a supplement. It doesn't cover a wide range so you'd have to hang it, then it would take away from the probably already low power

well i guess u can use a few whites with blues depending on the size of your aquarium. i was planning them for nano or a shallow tank and not a large tank. i guess these might work for tanks with height no more then 18".

They look bright, but I can see the optics are quite narrow. So you would not a lot of them to cover a tank, like the one in the video.

These would be coll, however, for a diy pico/nano tank (long, and not very wide). Just have them in a line above the tank.

    I'm setting them up now

    Hello all...fresh newbie here.

go to youtube and search GU10 reef lights. He has been running them for over a year with great sps growth and color, has a wonderfull clam as well. Bulbs are tight...like 2" apart down the center on a 55g...which is what im setting up again.

Only thing to keep in mind is the danger if shocked as these are running off 120v house current. bulbs have internal ballasts and cansimply be strung together on an extension cord...thats the part i loved...super bright though...cool whites are usually around 6000 level and blues are super blue...420nm.

dont mean to sound like a know it all, I have been reading up on them for a month or too and just wired mine on 3 cords..6 blue first then 4 blue/4 white then the last 6 white for my cycles

I paid like 4.50 a piece for mine from hong kong...3 bucks would be a steal
