so remember you get what you pay for. I never had problems with fish jumping, but I've had all sorts of new problems with the new tank. That's all part of the fun unless you find a crispy fish on you floor :bigcry:. I was just sick of it, but I'm not ready to build by final hoods because I don't know just how my lights are going to be yet. So I made some cheap hoods. I don't expect this to last very long (a few moths is the best I give it), but if you took a little more time and spent a few more bucks this could last if you water proofed it and reinforced it better than me. I'm not a carpenter and am not the best at working with wood, so I'm sure many people could make something better, but this is my "slap job". I got 2, 24inx49in sheets of press board (or what ever it's called) for 2.99 each, and 1 8ft (I think it's a 1inX1in) piece of redwood for 1.29, if you wanted to make it stronger I would use 2 as you will see I skimped on this part. I did that mainly because I was to lazy to design something better, I just wanted it on my tank NOW! I think everything else is pretty obvious form the pics, but I'd be happy to answer any questions, just remember I'm no carpenter :smartass1

it's really nothing impressive, but for under 10$ I'm happy with it!

ya some paint or some clear coat would be good, but I'm not waiting for it to dry. I do skateboard, but I've been pretty lazy about it lately. I've never lived so close to good surf spots before so surfing sorta just took over.

@sostoudt seems like we go about things in a similar stubborn way lol

I'm going to be making some nice ones once I build my lights so I did not feel like bothering with the fumes
