cheato in DT??

    hey guys! just wondering whats the upside and downside of putting cheato in the DT, since im not running a refugium...
    fish in the tank are wrasse, tang and angel and LPS and softies...

    Well I really have no idea. I will let the other guys chime in. I have seen it but I think it really wouldnt have any downside.

    tangs eat it.
    could block out light for corals.
    floats around
    for upsides look at the advantages of a fuge.

    I place it in my display tank on a regular basis. However I use it to feed my tangs and rabbit. They will eat it up...so you will not get the filtration effect of it. However you will see fat happy fish!

    One major drawback I see is that it gets loose and goes to my pumps and gets caught on that

    In my old tank I did not have a refug so I bought an internal refuge and kept it in there. I did not like the looks of it so I did take it down and bought a hang on back refuge where I could place mud and cheato
