Cheato?

hey guys i want to add cheato to my HOB but im not quite sure whats the meaning for CHEATO? i know its some kind of algea and its good. and also planning to add some rocks in my HOB.

 

Cheato sucks up the excess nitrates and phosphates so that other nuisance algae don't get it first and over run your tank.

 

I see.. so where would you ppruchase this? Reefcleaners doesn't sell them. And how much would put in a 10g

 

This is chaeto (with a couple pieces of feather caulerpa in it).

We got ours from an LFS. We got some more from another person in our area, and my boyfriend got some more from someone else in our area through the mail (he was going for pod/critter diversity).

Most people sell it by the sandwich bag full for $5.

 

yes, reefcleaners should be a good place to get chaetomorpha. It is just a fast growing macro algae, that does not need particularly high light levels. Useful as it ou tcompetes a lot of nuisance algae for nutrients.

 

Reefcleaners has it. I looked for it there before.
