    [​IMG]Found this crab after checking on my tank after lights had been out for about 30 minutes. it's close to 2" and had to come on a piece of coral when it was tiny! What kind of crab is this? Anybody seen them before? What kind of damage can they do? I'll throw him in my sump where he won't hurt anything.

    hard to say from that pic... look up "gorilla crab"

    pretty cool find!

    haha, he's cute! He's some type of Mithrax crab which is not reef safe, so putting him in the sump is a good idea. :)

    Looks like a different color t the one that lives (quite happily) in my sump now, take home away from anything u wish to keep, the gorilla crab in my tank ate my golden headed goby. :-(

    here's my guess.. Calico crab.. Not sure if its reef safe or not even if this is a possitive Id.
