I was running my lights from 10a.m. to 9:30 but have since changed to 12-9:30. Should I cut back even more? I have a coralife power center, but I am going to be getting rid of it and getting individual timers so I can run my actinics for about 1 hour before and 1 hours after my 10,000ks come on. do you think that will help?..

I have been looking for a refugium, but all the hobs that I like are exensive!

IMO, your lights are on way to long!!!! Almost 12 hours and you don't have a very significant amount of light demanding corals at the present time! I would cut back your lights to no more than 8 hours! Experiment with that and see how your tank looks!
As for the refugium, I would keep checking around for a good deal on a refugium! They are definitely worth their weight in gold IMO!

Mario I had a terrible problem with cyano and didnt know what to do. Nothing seemed to work until I did a 20% water change and added red slime remover to the new water. I increased my water flow cut down on the lights and decreased my feedings to every other day and i have no trace of cyano at this time. The red slime was gone within 2 days. That red slim remover removes red slime quickly without harm to your fish, invertebrates or corals. Very safe to use. You gotta try it.

I already did. I made a post about it somewhere.. I did the same thing as you.. water change, added the remover, turned off skimmer.. waiting 24 hrs, turned onskimmer, pulled 2 full cups in 1 hours and left it on.. 24hrs later did another water change.. cyano has decreased i think.

Well the only difference i see is that you left your skimmer off longer than I did. During that time when my skimmer was off I removed it and cleaned it as much as I could. I am not sure how often you should clean it out but mine has been up and running for about 6 months and was lookin pretty nasty. That cyano is some pretty nasty stuff to get rid of. Good luck with it..
