Oceansurf , my routine is as follows

daily for temperature, just a glance ( in fact I know its 26 when my chiller kicks in and 25 when its silent)
daily for PH (aquastar PH monitor so its easy)

weekly for Calc, Alk, Mag - 24 hours after my weekly change
Every once in a while for Nitrate and Phosphate (run purigen and GFO all the time anyway so may test if I notice an increase in algae magnet use for example)
when I think something is not as it should be I test for Ammonia and Nitrite (established tank)

Once a week for Alk, Mag, Calc and PH. If I suspect something is awry I check for Ammonia, Nitrate and Phosphate. I check the SG (salinity value) every couple of weeks just to be sure it isn't creeping up (usually) or down. Temp is periodic, every couple of days or so.

I aim for alk, Ca and salinity weekly, temp daily, others if something seems amiss.

I only test my alk, mg and Ca maybe twice a month now, I will also test Ph that frequently. I don't test for nitrate, ammonia or nitrites unless I think there is a problem.

When my tank was new I checked like everyday because I was so worried about my fish being happy, haha but now I don't check very much...as long as everything looks good and the fish seem fine I don't test. I also don't have corals, so I don't need to check any mineral levels.
