Yes. Your skimmer will go crazy for a few days after you use chemiclean (which is why you should turn it off for 48 h after you add the chemiclean, then you do a minimum 20% water change, then turn back on your skimmer and carbon). IME the skimmer goes back to normal within about 2-3 days.

OK, I see, this is the first time I actially had a skimmer that worked worth of something, and yes I did turn off the skimmer and remove the carbon for 24 hrs and did a 25% water change. turned the skimmer on at 30hrs and its been almost 48 hrs since the water change and Im getting bubbles still, which i thought was normal i just wanted to get others opinion on it so i wasnt driving myself crazy thinking why I cant get my skimmer to run right, Because i just got it to a week ago (or so i thought). thank you. really, a monthly basis? do you have a bad cyano problem? if so you need to find the real issue to what excess nutrients are feeding the cyano. all you are doing with chemi-clean is band-aiding the problem.

also remember that chemi-clean is an antibacterial, so it kills all good and bad bacteria, even the good bacteria we wait so long to develop during the cycle process (the stuff that makes liverock "live"). there have been stories of tanks crashing... just be careful with the stuff

I wouldnt say monthly, more like Ive used it 4-5 times in 1.5 years. Its not suppose to harm benificial bacteria, so i didnt know that, i just know that after i use it it makes the tank look crystal clear. If this does kill the benificial bacteria i think I'm going to discontinue the use. i never over use and i always fallow directions. thanks for the input.
