    When should I remove the bag of chemi-pure from my aquarium? I have had it in there for 4 weeks. The bag is now turning brown.

    The mfg calls for replacement every 6 months or so depending on your system. I have found that it is necessary to remove it and give it a good rinse in RO/DI water with my weekly/bi-weekly water changes will remove the build up on the nylon mesh and make it more effective. I also replace mine every three months.
